Help you locate a suitable place to live, and explains your responsibilities so you can stay on
rental assistance for as long as you need the help.
When you have been issued a Housing Choice Voucher you may locate a unit of your choice to
rent. If you are living in a unit that meets your needs and the landlord is willing to participate in the
program, you may be able to stay where you are. Lonoke County Housing Authority will inspect
the unit for Housing Quality Standards. If the unit is decent, safe and sanitary the necessary
paperwork can be completed, and the rent subsidy can begin.

You are encouraged to ask questions about the program. Please feel free to submit questions at
any time during your participation in the program. If you prefer, you may submit your question(s) in
writing or by e-mail.
Application Process
Next, you will be placed on the waiting list. BUT all applications MUST be turned in with ALL the
required documents - if we do not receive ALL of the documents we will place your application on
HOLD and you will be notified by mail of missing documents. If we don't receive the missing
documents in 10 days your application will be dropped from the waiting list.
Once you are at the top of the waiting list and are ready to receive a voucher we will mail a letter
notifying you to attend an Orientation Session. We can not tell you how long that may be - there
are several variables that would determine that.
You MUST attend the Voucher Session to receive your housing assistance voucher. If you do not
attend the voucher session and you do not contact the Section 8 Manager at least 24 hours
BEFORE the voucher session - your application will be dropped and you will have to start
completely over to receive housing assistance.

- Print the application by clicking on the APPLICATION button to the left - it is 30 pages long
with several blank pages - it is set up to be printed front and back (duplexed) - Complete the application - DO NOT LEAVE ANY LINES BLANK
- Make sure you have legible copies of your birth certificates, social security cards, and photo
id's (photo id's only needed for people 18 years old or older) - OR if you are bringing your
application in to the office we will make the copies for you - Bring the application and all required documents or mail it to:

PLUS you need to print one HUD-214 for EVERYONE in your household and a HUD-52675 Debts Owed for EVERYONE 18 AND OLDER in your household HUD-214 HUD-52675 You MUST complete the application and return every document requested or your application will be placed on HOLD and you will be notified by mail of missing documents. If we don't receive the missing documents in 10 days you will be dropped from the waiting list. |
